You probably won't see many blog postings for a while, but that doesn't
mean I've gone away. You may have noticed the newer "Louisiana Foods and Recipes" section, which is a work in progress.
Since leaving New Orleans, I realized how important it is to preserve the traditions, recipes and culture of New Orleans food,
so I'm compiling recipes for popular dishes from my family, friends and my own collection.
In the process, I decided to take on another project: a family cookbook.
For Christmas this year, I'm compiling a book full of recipes that have appeared at family gatherings for many years.
I always looked forward to my Aunt Judy's sweet potato casserole for Thanksgiving and my Grandma's shrimp dip for New Years.
Now I am putting them together in a book so that all of my relatives can share some of their traditions and pass them on to
future generations.
If you've got any great tips, don't hold back; send me an email.
I also found a great blog posting recently on Creating Your Own Cookbook from 101 Cookbooks.
I'll be around... just a little busy.
Can the food network get any worse? When Rachel Ray began doing commercials
for Burger King, I laughed it off and it went away. Now I turn on the TV to find "Celebrity Chef" Tyler Florence has
his own line of entrees at Applebees Restaurant. Geez.
Is there anything worth watching anymore on FoodTV?
